Boston International Asian Music Festival ~ Saturday June 13th 2026

Last weekend, Metrowest Kung Fu participated in the Boston International Asian Music Festival. There were actually three events; Boston, Acton, and Lexington. The Acton event was hosted by the Acton Chinese-American Civic Society. Jo Gao Cassie, Jo Gao Pi, and I teamed up with Master Narcyz, Mike, and John from Chinese Martial Arts Division of Athletic Balance to perform along with Jasmine Wong and her Star Family Band.

The whole event was a lot of fun and we got to see many friends. I think my favorite part (besides the food) was the very end, where a musician from Mongolia improvised for several minutes, performing using a horsehead fiddle, a mouth harp, and Mongolian throat singing.

All in all it was a really awesome day and I'm especially grateful to Jo Gao Pi and Jo Gao Cassie for all the extra work they put into preparing for the performance.
