Sudbury 4th of July Parade ~ July 4th 2026

I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend.

I am so proud of our lion dance troupe Team Hongshi as well as the volunteers who marched in the Sudbury 4th of July parade on Saturday:

Marching 2.5 miles in triple digit heat while doing Kung Fu is no joke. Even more impressive than the physical aptitude of my students, I’m proud of how everyone watched out for each other. I often say “we take care of each other in Kung Fu” and you all really exemplified that Saturday; making sure everyone had water, was getting sprayed, was getting cold washcloths, was taking breaks, was sitting in the truck as needed. I’m very proud (and slightly relieved) that we got through it with no incidents or scares, among our team (ranging from ten years old up into their seventies) or our partners from the Chinese American Association of Sudbury (who were also happy to take advantage of our “waterbenders”.) It was a huge success and you all really exemplified what being a Kung Fu/Tai Chi student means.
