3 Section Staff & Double Dagger with Shifu Gregg Zilb

$208.00

The three section staff 三節棍 (sān jié gùn) is a flail weapon made of three wooden sticks connected by a metal chain. It is a relatively recent addition to the historical arsenal of Kung Fu weapons.

We will also be working on a Shàolínquán 少林拳 double dagger 匕首 (bǐ shǒu) form.

Shifu Gregg Zilb is Shifu Eliot’s martial grandfather, or Shīgōng (師公). The head instructor of Authentic Shaolin Kung Fu in New York, Shifu Gregg been training for 43 years in Shaolin Kung Fu martial arts. He is a 35th generation Shaolin closed door disciple of Shifu Kwong Cheuk, and is also a 9th generation Seven Star Praying Mantis closed door disciple under Shifu Raul Ortiz. Shifu Gregg has fought all around the world including Thailand, the Philippines, China, Puerto Rico, Canada and all over the United States.

Sānjiégùn is an advanced weapon. This workshop is not for children. Students should be familiar with staff at a minimum, and ideally with double sticks as well. Beginners may use double sticks instead of a three section staff.

Students must provide their own three section staff.

Cost is $200 per student. Students should pay via cash or Venmo. (You may pay here but the price is higher to cover transaction fees from Square and PayPal.)

After the seminar, we will be going out to dinner to celebrate Shifu Gary’s 50th birthday! All are welcome. Students are coordinating to purchase a gift for Shifu Gary; please contact Shifu Eliot Prisby or Laoshi Kevin Simpson if you’d like to contribute.
