Saturday February 7th 2026, we were so excited to be a part of the the Chinese American Association of Sudbury Lunar New Year Fair.
This year, CAAS celebrated the Year of the Fire Horse in the style of a Miàohuì, or “Temple Fair” (庙会), a street-festival type celebration, in which participants can purchase food and gifts, as well as witness folk performances, including music, dance, and martial arts.
Metrowest Kung Fu was honored to have both our Demo Team and our lion dance troupe (Team Hóngshī 红狮) be invited to perform. There was a great turnout in spite of the wintry weather, and it was a great joy to celebrate the coming of a New Year through traditional Chinese cultural practices. Plus the food was amazing!
We are so grateful to Jessica, Wang, and Bo from CAAS for inviting us to participate and hope to do it again next year!
