Training with Master Bing (May 28th & 29th, June 13th & 14th 2025)

During the pandemic, my own teacher, not being super tech savvy, wasn’t offering a lot in the way of online classes. I didn’t judge him for this, teaching online is exhausting and frustrating and I personally removed it as a training option as soon as it was feasible. But this left me very thirsty for knowledge and yearning for the emotional regulation martial arts training brings during a time where there was a lot of dysregulation, all around the world.

Fortunately for me, my friends Shifu Paul and Jiaolian Rosalie, who run Two Dragons Path, informed me that their teacher Zhong Xuechao (Master Bing) was offering online classes from his own home in China.

With my Shifu’s permission, I started attending online classes with Master Bing. Though they were late at night due to the time difference, it was a great way to keep my cup filled during a difficult time. Wudang Kung Fu ended up being pretty compatible with my training, and I learned a handful of forms including Xuanmen Jian, Ba Xian Gun, Qian Kun Shan, and Wudang Style Baguazhang.

When Paul and Rosalie informed me recently that Master Bing would be visiting the US, I jumped at the chance to work with him in person again, which I had not done since pre-pandemic. We worked on a two-person sword form developed by Master Bing and Paul, and I reviewed the Bagua form I had learned online during the pandemic.

As usual, Master Bing, despite being an easy-going and mellow teacher, still challenged us with complex and challenging Doaist martial arts. Paul and Rosalie’s Kung Fu family was warm and welcoming to me and my student Ryan. I’m grateful to Paul and Rosalie for giving us the chance to work with Master Bing.
