The Five Tenets of Tae Kwon Do: Courtesy
No one is above me or below me - we are equal.
"How I treat others is a display of my own self-respect for all to see. Students who have a healthy self-respect do not find it difficult to respect others, and they are not quick to judge harshly or to judge at all. We must take care of ourselves with the same courtesy and concern that we have for others. A student with a healthy ego does not allow others' negative statements to have a lasting effect. They do not give this much credence. What others say is not as important as what the student himself thinks and believes. This should overrule all. How we treat others is a reflection of how we treat ourselves! Do not try and prove points with anyone, be courteous, use manners, and respect everyone, including ourselves."
