February 2017 Newsletter & Announcements

GONG XI FA CAI! Happy Year of the Rooster, everyone! Here is what's happening at Metrowest Kung Fu in February:

Lunchtime Tai Chi Classes
We are now offering Tai Chi classes Mondays and Fridays from 12PM-1PM. Pricing is the same as the regular Tai Chi program, $100 per month. The usual family discounts and multi-program discounts still apply.

Couples Yoga Class
To celebrate Valentine's Day, we'll be hosting a couples yoga class on Sunday February 12th from 10:00-11:30AM. No experience is necessary and all are welcome! No spouse? No problem! Bring anyone you feel comfortable sharing some laughs with! The class costs $20 per couple. See Sara or Sihing Eliot for more information.

Yearly New Year Trip to Virginia
We had a wonderful time training with Sigung and Sifu Sara with our friends from the Auburn MA and Chesapeake VA schools. We got to learn a new Huaquan form, saw a lion dance from another Kung Fu school, and most exciting of all, Sifu Gary and Sije Cheyenne were promoted! Sifu Gary is now a 4th degree black sash, and Sije Cheyenne is a 2nd degree black sash. Congratulations!

Tai Chi Ranking
Congratulations to our students who ranked for their next Tai Chi sashes! The next ranking will be for adult Kung Fu students on Saturday February 25th at 12PM. Sash fee is $35 and should be paid by February 11th.

ArtsNight Maynard
The next ArtsNight Maynard is Saturday March 11th. Stop by the kwoon to enjoy music by Kid Pinky!

In-House Tournament
We'll be hosting an in-house tournament on Saturday March 18th at Sifu Gary's school, New England Academy of Kung Fu & Tai Chi in Auburn. Preregistration is $40, same day registration is $50, cash only. All Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Tae Kwon Do students are welcome and encouraged to attend. "In-house" means the tournament is small and invitation-only; that means we make sure that our tournaments and the other schools we invite are fun, friendly, and relaxed. There will be no Kung Fu, Tai Chi, or Tae Kwon Do classes that day. We hope to see you there!
