Affecting Lives

Don't follow any specific leader, coach, instructor, or teacher, for no one is perfect. Instead, follow the art of Kung Fu practice itself, the very same principles we are all striving to learn and master.

It is very common for students to have their lives affected by their Kung Fu practice, because they start to notice incredible changes. Their attitude improves, their physical health improves, their concentration improves, and they feel like they are slowly getting control of the stresses in their lives. As a result, students start to come to class much more regularly.

Unfortunately, their loved ones may start to have concerns because they don't understand the importance of practice and view the school as a health club. They cannot understand why anyone would feel the need to be so committed to a health club, and since people are generally scared of what they don't understand, they may view the school as a type of brainwashing.

The truth is, that in some ways, we are. We are trying to "wash" the student brain of all the negativity out in the world. We want clean, crisp, clear-thinking brains. We teach students how to discipline their minds and bodies, and how to focus on what they wish to accomplish.

On the other hand, some people may view this as being too spiritual, but the truth is, to practice Kung Fu, the student does not have to practice any Eastern beliefs. What a student needs to be concerned with is personal growth and the discipline of his/her mind and body. This is what we view as the Tao (path), the principles we are all striving to learn and master. We are not converting our students, but instead, evolving them to be their personal best in life.

We have created a place where people can come to get away from their everyday lives, stresses, and strains; a place where students can focus their minds and bodies through hard practice. At the same time, it is a positive environment for students to enjoy each other's company, as well as learn and grow through the practice of Kung Fu.
