9 Keys to Charisma: Only Real Compliments Are Sincere

Recognizing the good in others and taking a moment to compliment them goes a long way.

There is a sentiment that plays true with most people today: "I can do a million things right and no one notices, but I can do one thing wrong and no one forgets." As humans, we are trained to look for the mistakes people make, so that we can correct them.

As future leaders, coaches, instructors, and Sifus, we need to see what others are doing right and compliment them for it. This opens the doors for our corrections. This method is so popular that it is labeled P.C.P.: praise-correct-praise, also known as a "compliment sandwich." Research has proven that people are much more receptive to correction after they're told what they are doing correctly. The challenge is that the compliment must be true, and sincere.
